This is a charming autobiographical piece performed by Linn Lorkin, a New Zealander who has travelled far and wide and has some juicy stories to tell. The stories are told through her original songs revealing a fabulous style and facility, especially in the number: ‘Family at the Beach’. To compare her to more well-known artists, it would be reasonable to describe her as a cross between Piaf and Victoria Wood – her story is related as comedic, but there is a pain and melancholy lurking just beneath the surface and is perfectly suited to her cool, jazz-style piano playing and singing. A lovely, relaxing way to enjoy the end of a long day at the Fringe.
